Dear Friends,
For 25 wonderful years, it has been our privilege to serve you and to build friendships with one of the kindest, most creative communities imaginable. What began as a business grew into something far more meaningful, and we are deeply grateful for the trust, loyalty, and encouragement you have shared with us over the years.
It is with heartfelt gratitude that we close this chapter of Embroidery.com and look forward to new adventures in life.
Embroidery.com no longer sells physical hand and machine embroidery supplies—at least for the foreseeable future.
We have heard from many of you who are sad to see us go, and we want to do everything we can to make this transition as smooth and clear as possible. Below are answers to the questions we are asked most often.
Will Hemingworth Thread still be available?
No, at least for the foreseeable future. Hemingworth thread will no longer be imported into the U.S. The brand is currently available through Echidna Sewing Products in Australia, who have taken over the line. Whether Hemingworth returns to the U.S. market will depend largely on the stability and predictability of trade relations with China.
We do still have some remaining stock, which will be sold to other retailers, so there may be limited availability in stores or online marketplaces.
Will E-Z Stitch scroll frames and stands remain available?
Yes. E-Z Stitch has new owners, and production is expected to resume in mid-February. A list of retailers will be posted by the end of February at adp-usa.com or ezstitch.net.
Will downloadable machine embroidery designs remain available on Embroidery.com?
Yes. We will continue to offer downloadable embroidery designs, and new designs will still be added. You will also retain access to all of your past purchases.
Where should I go for hand embroidery floss?
DMC, Valdani, and Caron Collection lines are available through StitchyStash.com. For the time being, StitchyStash is affiliated with Embroidery Central and will be managed by my wife, Trista.
The Weeks Dye Works and Classic Colorworks collections have been transferred to Millennial Fabrics are available from millenialfabrics.com
Why are you closing down?
While we’re not technically closing down, since Embroidery Central will continue offering downloadable designs and supporting StitchyStash.com, I will be stepping into a full-time job opportunity elsewhere. This change naturally limits the time and attention I can devote to the business and makes scaling back necessary. At the same time, current economic and regulatory pressures have made it difficult to sell the business or transition it to new management. While Plan A didn’t unfold as we had hoped, Plan B is coming together with optimism and a bright future ahead.
Thank you for being part of our story. Thank you for your creativity, your kindness, and your support. We will always treasure the friendships formed and the years we shared together.
With sincere appreciation,
